Flushing, New York—The gaming industry has grown by more than five million jobs since 2015, the largest employment gain in the gaming industry since 2000.
According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, there were 1.5 million people in the industry in 2017, up from 1.4 million the previous year.
According the BLS, the gaming sector’s total jobs growth in 2017 was 2.2 percent, the second highest in the country, and the highest since 2000, when it had 4.6 percent.
The gaming sector has added 5 million full-time jobs since the beginning of 2017, according to the Blesco Group, a business consulting firm that tracks the industry.
The BLS estimates that the gaming workforce grew by 4.1 million people during that period.
Gaming employment has continued to grow, but the industry is now struggling to compete in a rapidly changing economy.
“Gambling is the backbone of the economy, but it’s also the only one that really offers an entry-level, entry-to-the-middle-class job,” Andrew Gershenfeld, a former investment banker at Goldman Sachs and a former senior vice president at the US Bureau of Economic Analysis, told Bloomberg.
In 2018, the industry was estimated to create just over a million jobs, according BLS.

While many states are considering a ban on gaming in their states, states have also seen more than 3 million new jobs created in 2017.
It’s been hard to attract and retain talent.
When gaming is a booming industry, you’re not going to see as many jobs being created as you might in other sectors.
And there are some companies that are really trying to diversify their workforce.
Belsize says that the growth in the number of jobs in gaming is partially offset by the decline in other industries that rely on gaming.
A look at the demographics of the gaming economy shows that a lot of the growth has been in women and minorities.
Over 70 percent of gaming workers are men, according Belsizer.
As the number in the workforce has grown, so has the number working at gaming establishments.
This is a different type of workforce than that of the military, which is dominated by women and people of color, according a report released by the Pew Research Center.
Another factor is the way in which many companies are looking to hire from outside the gaming sphere.
Some companies, like the gaming company Gamasutra, are hiring from outside their own industry, according CNN Money.
For example, Gamasutvue has hired 100 people from outside of the tech industry, including some developers and programmers.
There’s also a lot more diversity in the tech world than in the entertainment and gaming worlds, which has led to a greater amount of diversity in technology.
Companies like Zynga, GameStop and Target have been aggressively hiring minorities and women.
However, according Topps, a baseball team that is currently in the playoffs, only about half of the players are minorities or women.
