Pizza Hut has announced plans to invest $100m in its pizza brand, Pizza Hut Pizza, following an investment in a pizza-making business earlier this year.
The Italian brand has now become a global force in the world of pizza, having won the title of ‘best-selling pizza’ in the UK for the second consecutive year and in the US for the first time.
Its Pizza Hut Food & Drink team will now be led by head of marketing and brand communications, Andrea Nitti, and chief operating officer, Michele DeSantiago.
The team will focus on the company’s Pizza Hut brands and restaurants, including Pizza Hut Italian, Pizza Pizza, Pizza in Italy, Pizza Bar, Pizza, the new Pizza Hut pizza and Pizza Hut.
The announcement came after Pizza Hut was awarded a €5m contract to design and build the new ‘Pizza Hut Pizza Bar’ in Dublin, with the first Pizza Hut location to open in late 2019.
“We are delighted to welcome Andrea Nitsi and Michele De Santo to Pizza Hut, which will now work with us to ensure that Pizza Hut’s brand is at the forefront of global commerce,” Pizza Hut said in a statement.
“Together with our global partners, Pizza Huts Pizza and Pizza Pizza in the States, we will continue to build on Pizza Hut and Pizza Hut Pizza, bringing more of our customers and customers’ experience to more people around the world.”
